Qld: Huge protest planned against fish farm proposal
Opponents of a proposed fish farm in a Queensland marine park are assembling a fleetfor a protest tomorrow.
The organisers -- Groups Against Fish Farms -- are expecting more than 50 vessels forthe protest in the Moreton Bay Marine Park.
They say they represent conservationists, commercial and recreational fishers, tourismoperators and concerned residents.
They fear the development will attract sharks and increase nutrients which will pollutethe pristine waters.
Aquaculture firm Sun Aqua Pty Ltd denies there'll be be any harm done in the farmingof snapper and yellowtail kingfish.
The company says it will welcome protesters to the site to judge for themselves.
