Qld: Coalition to order fuel inquiry

BRISBANE, Jan 16 AAP - The Queensland Coalition plans to initiate a Royal Commission
into petrol pricing if elected this year.
Opposition leader Rob Borbidge said today the inquiry would be an "early decision of
a National-Liberal government".
Mr Borbidge said Queensland had witnessed "extreme volatility" in petrol prices recently.
Today Brisbane suburban petrol prices reported by the Fuel Watch website ranged from
69.7 cents a litre at Clayfield to 77.9 cents a litre at Herston, both in Brisbane's northern
suburbs.
